Aston-By-Stone Community Garden

With a grant from the HS2 Community and Environment Fund, Stone Rural Parish Council have been able to a create a wonderful new green space in Aston-By-Stone where residents and visitors can stop and appreciate the history of the village.

The area was previously an untidy piece of land, vehicles were encroaching the grass and the roots of a 110 year old memorial tree were being damaged. Stone Rural Parish Council are delighted to be able protect the memorial tree, celebrate the village’s part in the history of the Two Saints Way and create a green space.

This transformation could not have been achieved without the funding from the HS2 Community and Environment Fund and support from Staffordshire Highways.

As spring approaches, the Parish Council looks forward to seeing the memorial tree and the garden blossom.
